Jinkx Monsoon Hits All the Right Notes In 'Doctor Who' Villain First Look

"When The Doctor summons me, I am compelled to answer."

Jinkx Monsoon is going from Ru to Who — Doctor Who, that is.

Earlier this month Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies announced that the Drag Race winner will play "a major role" in the upcoming 60th anniversary of the long-running sci-fi series later this year:

“In a galaxy of comets and supernovas, here comes the biggest star of all," said Davies. "Jinkx Monsoon is on a collision course with the TARDIS, and Doctor Who will never be the same again."

And now we have our first look at Jinkx as the Doctor's "most powerful enemy yet" — which is saying something since the Time Lord has faced some serious foes over the past 60 years.

In new images and video released by the BBC, Jinkx is hitting all the right notes dressed in a stunning piano-themed black and white costume. Jinkx tweeted out the pictures with the caption: "When the Doctor summons me, I am compelled to answer," followed by thunder cloud and piano emojis.

"It’s not easy to encapsulate how excited I am with words. I was saying to the director yesterday, the role that I’m playing, it’s like everything I ever dreamed about doing as an actor in one character," Jinkx told Pride earlier this week. "It’s like all of my actor fantasies have been rolled into one character, and now I get to do it all on a show that I love, written by a prolific writer, a voice of our generation who has written so many astounding things. And this is just one example of his brilliance, Russell T. Davies."

As Logo previously reported, Davies is friends with Jinkx and her husband, Michael Abbott, and he even gave a speech at their wedding, where he used props including a mini TARDIS, as he revealed on an episode of Monsoon's podcast, Hi Jinkx!

Jinkx recently slayed Broadway as Mama Morton in Chicago, and we can't wait to see what spell she casts over the Whoniverse. The Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials will air later this year.
