    Voss Events

  • Wagon Burners: An All Indigenous Drag Show

    Illuminative

"Wagon Burners" was a term for Indigenous people who took a flame to the wagons of colonizers. Now, it is also the name of a new live event, "Wagon Burners: An All-Indigenous Drag show."

Presented by IllumiNative, a Native woman-led social justice organization dedicated to building power for Native peoples, "Wagon Burners" will be co-hosted by Landa Lakes (Chickasaw), and Lady Shug (Diné) — who you might recognize from We're Here — on Friday, August 26 in Denver, CO. Click here for more info and tickets.

This special show will feature several Indigenous drag artists, including:

  • Alaska is "Red 4 Filth"

The 49th state of drag has announced her latest album, Red 4 Filth, will be available Sept 23. The collection will feature new tracks along with previously released singles "Red," "wow," and "Girlz Night" (feat. Stephanie's Child). Alaska will also be booked and busy in the fall with the three-week L.A. run of her live show, DRAG: The Musical, before jetting off on her own North American tour starting on Oct. 25.

  • Symone Gets "Gutsy"

Gutsy, the new AppleTV+ docuseries starring and produced by Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, features a pantheon of powerful women from Kim Kardashian to Megan Thee Stallion, Jane Goodall, Goldie Hawn, and more. But keep your eyes peeled for RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13 winner Symone, who also appears in the series and makes a quick cameo in the new trailer.

Gutsy premieres Sept. 9 on AppleTV+.

  • "Queer for Fear"

    AMC/Shudder

Shudder has debuted new posters for its upcoming limited series, Queer for Fear: The History of Queer Horror. The new images star LGBTQ celebs — like Drag Race's Mayhem Miller and BenDeLaCreme — recreating some of the most iconic figures from the horror genre.  And ICYMI, earlier this summer Shudder released a Queer for Fear poster featuring Alaska serving her best bloody prom photo.

The four-part documentary series is executive produced by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, Pushing Daisies) and premieres Sept. 29 on Shudder. Here is an official synopsis from the streamer:

"From its literary origins with queer authors Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, and Oscar Wilde to the pansy craze of the 1920s that influenced Universal Monsters and Hitchcock; from the “lavender scare” alien invasion films of the mid-20th century to the AIDS-obsessed bloodletting of 80s vampire films; through genre-bending horrors from a new generation of queer creators; Queer for Fear re-examines genre stories through a queer lens, seeing them not as violent, murderous narratives, but as tales of survival that resonate thematically with queer audiences everywhere."

  • Raja gets real in "Portrait of a Queen"

The winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3, and recent competitor on All Stars Season 7 invites you into her glamorous home for the newest episode of Portrait of a Queen.
